Focus of the project was the research-based development of a UX UI concept for the VLISCO B2B mobile app.
VLISCO
The Challenge
There were several challenges I encountered in the process, it was a new industry and demographic area, I hadn't worked on before - textile production and B2B sales in and beyond urban Africa.
VLISCO is a very interesting brand, so are their users and the first phase of research was devoted to studying the brand, the product palette, the region, and the users, because even small details & nuances might affect the user experience.
The key to a working solution was deeper product, market, and socio-cultural research to develop better understanding of users and business specifics. This led to effective work with the research findings - defining use cases, user goals, pain points, and behavioral patterns.
The Solution
Research findings layed out the basis for the next phase in the design process. I continued with the development of 3 user personas, typical use cases and user flows that later mapped out the UX UI strategy and information architecture of the app.
In an agile workflow we iterated through wireframes and screen mock-ups until we were able to finalize a working prototype that helped the client start user testing.
All Projects
My responsibility was to initiate a user-centered and agile design process to facilitate the user experience for B2B clients, and create a cohesive UX UI design concept, including wireframes, mockups, and a prototype.
My Role
The specifics of B2B and the rare target group made the design process challenging but also very rewarding.
The research findings helped me develop working hypothesis to test with real users, which was essential.
